Long time...

It's been a long time since my last blog... Oops...

I'm just writing to say that I am leaving. I have decided to go home early.

I am going back and am going to save a little money and spend my time studying for the ASTB, Aviation Selection Test Battery. I am going to attempt to get into the Navy Officer Candidate School and study to be a Pilot! It's awesome! I hope to fly the P-3 or E-6. They are the only Navy land based planes, meaning they don't fly onto the ships. That way I would never have to fly a plane onto or off of a ship, that would just be crazy scary... My other option the recruiter gave me was to be the driver of a ship, a SWO (Surface Warfare Officer). Sounds cool, I think?? We shall see, first step is to take and pass the ASTB!

I'm off to bed, got a long day tomorrow. I've been working at Subway on base to make a little extra cash while I am here. Good stuff!

Finally!

Okay, so I am finally sitting down and giving a real update! Woohoo!!

I've been here over two weeks now. I have spent some time on Kauai and Oahu, speaking of Oahu, it is a really awesome place!! Things have been busy, however they are starting to slow down and I have a lot of free time! I started running and walking everyday, I really want to utilize this free time to get back into shape. I ran for 30 minutes yesterday, without stopping! That is big for me! I need to find some new running shoes though, mine are horrible for running. My feet hurt really bad and are getting blisters just from running 30 minutes... Guess I should look online and find some... Bummer!

I've done some really fun things while being back. I went to my first Luau ever! It was awesome! I got pulled up on stage by one of the hula guys and I had to do the hula in front of everyone, pretty crazy... I also went to a concert, Jake Shimabukuro, he is the most amazing musician I have ever heard! He plays the ukulele like no other! If you've got time look him up on youtube playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps, you won't regret it! :) I've also been able to spend some good time down on the beach. I saw a Hawaiian Monk Seal, that was awesome. It was just out on the beach not too far down from our house. Also, it is whale season so the whales are jumping like crazy!!! It is amazing! I've got some awesome pictures, some of which I will post at the end of this post.

I can't really think of much else to say right now. I'm just catching up on emails and stuff like that this morning. Fun stuff.. Soon I'll take Keilani out for a walk on the beach and look for whales, ah my favorite part of the day! :)

Oh, I've been going to this really awesome little church out in Kekaha. It is SO little and cute! They play worship music, of which includes the ukulele! So Hawaiian!! It is just an awesome little place to go. Everyone is so kind and welcoming too. When you walk in like 10 people come up and just hug you, it is very fun! They also give ukulele and guitar lessons on Sunday afternoons. Zachary and I are going to start going so we can expand our musical knowledge and skills! Woohoo!!

so..

I haven't posted anything since I got here. Things have been crazy busy the last two weeks and they have yet to slow down. I was on Kauai for a little while then went over to Oahu for a little while, now I am back on Kauai again.. Lots of stuff to be done!

I don't really have much time to play on the computer. This is actually the first time I have even turned my laptop on since I have been here...

Well, I am going to go get dinner started. Once things slow down in a few weeks I'll post with details of what life is like on Kauai this time around.

Mixed emotions...

Tomorrow I leave Texas, Tomorrow I arrive in Hawaii, Tomorrow begins a new era in my life...

I don't know how to feel. Overwhelmed with excitement yet sadness is creeping in.

I wish I could just wake up and be there. Traveling all day tomorrow is going to stress me out.

Well, I had originally deleted my update blog because there was no updating needing to occur. That has changed!

I am thankful that I am able to head back to the island, the island life is for me! It is not forever, just for a few months. It will be a great opportunity for me to figure out what the next move is. I will return in late March.

I leave Friday, I can not believe how soon it is that I am leaving! Everything is packed and just waiting for Friday to arrive. My room is empty and I'm living out of my suitcase. I learned my lesson too, I am hardly taking anything this time. All you really need over there is a swimsuit and shorts, so that is pretty much all that I am taking.

I know this trip will be as amazing as the last! I am looking forward to the adventures that will come with the Peckauanos!!!
